The Lark opens in the Funk Zone
A new restaurant called The Lark has opened in Santa Barbara’s rapidly changing “Funk Zone.”
The name came from a famous train that came through the area for years, not far from the restaurant site on lower Anacapa St.
Head Chef Jason Puluska says he has been trained in Texas and San Francisco, and is excited about the bounty of products from the local area he can use in his recipes. “We’re really excited to use farm mussels from Hope Ranch, there’s great strawberries, great avocados in Carpinteria. There are all these things that are right there at our fingertips,” he said.
Paluska says his dishes have “big flavors.” He says there is a variety for everyone’s tastes. “We are trying to keep the food level exciting and give everyone as many options as we can,” said Paluska.
The restaurant has inside and outside tables, unique lighting, and a long bar for those just stopping by for a drink.
It’s very close to several other new food locations including the Lucky Penny and Figueroa Mountain Brewing, both new additions to the area.
