Burn victims benefit from fire agencies
A caravan of fire engines has gone through Santa Barbara County, with firefighters picking up funds to help burn victims.
The “Firefighters Quest for Burn Survivors” is a week long event.
Already over $67,000 has been raised.
Santa Barbara County Fire Captain Howard Orr says, “each agency determines where they want the money to go to. It can go to a local burn survivor. Often times insurance companies don’t quite have enough to cover all of the needs they have for dressings and for the post surgical needs. That money can help them out in those needs.”
This fundraising effort takes place annually in many Southern California communities.
