Shooting in Oxnard sends two teens to hospital

Oxnard police are looking for a shooter who they say shot two people Monday night.

The shooting happened just before 8 p.m. on the 600 block of Devonshire Drive. Witnesses at the scene say three to four Hispanic men confronted a man and woman in the area. Words were exchanged, and then a Hispanic man started shooting at the man and woman.

Police say, the 18-year-old woman received a single gunshot wound to the back, and the 19-year-old man was shot several times. Both victims were transferred to the hospital and are expected to survive.

Police are currently looking for the shooter. They ask anyone with information to call Ventura County Crime Stoppers at (800)222-8477.
