Santa Barbara Bowl plugged in for new season
The Santa Barbara Bowl is hooked up for a new season, starting tomorrow night with New Order taking the stage, and many big name artists on the schedule.
The full season of concerts has not been released. Some of the shows will be added in the coming weeks to fill out a schedule that will go through the fall.
Already, however, there is quite the buzz for shows that are booked including, Sting, Cheap Trick, fun., Depeche Mode, Atoms for Peace, and Jason Mraz.
Bowl Manager Rick Boller says, ” we are fortunate to have artists of this magnitude in our backyard.”
Many bands schedule a stop in Santa Barbara in between trips at larger cities in California. “We are now on their map and they route their tour with us in mind, but we also have those bigger artists who have the days off in between that we’re able to get here,” said Boller.
The bowl is a 4500 seat venue and was built in 1936.
