Tractor-trailer fire reported near Los Alamos

Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to a tractor trailer fire at 6:18 a.m. Thursday. It happened 5 miles north of Los Alamos on the southbound side of Highway 101.

County Fire said the tractor-trailer rig was towing two flatbed trucks, both were carrying cardboard boxes.

The first trailer caught fire for unknown reasons and the driver pulled the rig over while firefighters extinguished the flames.

Southbound Highway 101 traffic was slowed down. There were no injuries and the cause is under investigation.
