Man cleaning gun shoots himself
A Santa Maria man is in the hospital Monday after he accidentally shot himself. It happened at a home on the 800 block of Pauline Court.
Emergency crews were called to the house just after 1 p.m.
Santa Barbara County Fire Department spokesperson David Sadecki said the man was cleaning his pistol when he shot himself in the chest.
He is expected to be OK.
