Gauchos slam Fullerton in key Big West game

UCSB sophomore Alan Williams recorded his 14th double-double of the season to lead the Gauchos to a 66-50 win over Cal State Fullerton in a battle for the No. 7 seed in next week’s Big West Conference Tournament. Williams dominated the small line-up of the Titans for 20 points and 14 rebounds.

Both teams are now 6-11 but the Gauchos will clinch the 7th seed with a win Saturday at home against UC Riverside or a Fullerton loss at Cal Poly.

Michael Bryson scored 14 points, Taran Brown had 11 and Kyle Boswell added 10. The freshman Bryson and Brown had two crowd-pleasing dunks each in the second half.
