Shoemake pitches SBCC to home-opening win

Brendon Shoemake looked in mid-season form as he limited West L.A. to just two runs on four hits in seven innings of work as Santa Barbara City College won their home opener 10-2 in baseball.

Shoemake received terrific offensive support from the bottom of the order. No. 9 hitter Andy Smith went 2-2 with two RBIs and two runs for the Vaqueros (2-4). Ryan Crowe, who bats No. 8, scored three runs and knocked in a run.
