Jennifer Lawrence honored as “Outstanding Performer of the Year”
Academy Award nominee Jennifer Lawrence picked up yet another honor this awards season, this time from the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
The 22-year-old actress received the “Outstanding Performer of the Year” award for her diverse performances in film this year.
“It’s been absolutely incredible,” Lawrence said. “It’s such an honor and I’m just so happy to be here.”
Lawrence starred in “The Hunger Games” and “Silver Linings Playbook” which is nominated for eight Academy Awards including Best Picture.
David O. Russell directed Lawrence in “Silver Linings Playbook” and said the young actress auditioned via Skype and he was blown away.
“She has that charisma and presence of her soul,” he said. “That’s God given.”
