Chase Ends With Two Arrests

Deputies called to investigate an auto burglary in progress in Summerland ended up chasing the suspects all the way to Oxnard.It started at 6:30 a.m.Pretty soon Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Deputies, California Highway Patrol Officers, and Oxnard Police were on the hunt.A Ventura County Sheriff’s Helicopter flew over the scene after the suspects hit a tree and fled on foot.Officers ended up going door to door near Ensign Place in the Wingfield neighborhood across from the Oxnard Airport.They caught the first suspect inside a friend’s house.Then they cleared the area of police cars and waited.Around 11a.m. a second suspect came out of hiding.He was taken into custody.The tow truck driver saw what looked like a stolen bike and boxes of other item in the bed of the suspect’s truck.He towed the car back to Santa Barbara County where the suspects will be prosecuted.Their names have not yet been released.Share your comments about this story with us on the KEY News Facebook page.
