Oxnard Special Election

Oxnard will hold a special election in June to fill a vacant council seat.The seat opened up when council member Tim Flynn was elected Mayor of Oxnard.In order to avoid criticism, the City Council chose not to appoint someone.The city has agreed to spend up to 200-thousand dollars to hold an election on Tuesday, June 4th.Councilmember Bryan MacDonald is encouraging interested candidates to pull papers at the city clerk’s office on February 11th.They have until early March to file.The winner will finish the remainder of Flynn’s city council term.That term ends in late 2014.Share your comments about this story with us on the KEY News Facebook page.
