Sexual Assault Near UCSB

A woman was sexually assaulted near the UCSB campus early Wednesday morning. The incident happened after the victim met the suspect at a party.UCSB police say an unidentified college age man and woman came alone to the beach just west of Isla Vista around midnight. That’s when the woman was sexually assaulted.The suspect is described as a college age white man, five feet 10 inches tall with a medium athletic build, brown eyes, brown hair and wearing a t-shirt and long pants.Police advise students to not walk alone at night, carry a cell phone and take advantage of the Community Service Escort Service.This is the third sexual assault near campus since classes started last week.If you have any information about the latest incident, you are urged to contact the UCSB Police Department at 893-3446.
