UPDATE: Lost Hikers Found on Hurricane Deck Trail

Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue successfully located two lost hikers on the Hurricane Deck Trail in the San Rafael Wilderness.A call went out at 10:06 a.m. Wednesday.Santa Barbara County air support launched a helicopter, locating the hikers just about 10:45 a.m. Wednesday. About 11:00 a.m., both hikers were evaluated by a SAR team and determined to be okay. The uninjured hikers were driven back to their car at the Nira Campground.The Hurricane Deck trail is known for being a tough, long one, with limited access to water. In fact, an AMR paramedic got lost on the trail back in January. This time of year tends to be hot with temperatures hitting 100 degrees in the back country. Hikers are urged to hydrate before they go out and carry plenty of water to avoid dehydration.
