Community Beat Coordinators Return To Santa Maria
The Community Beat Coordinators Unit is back in Santa Maria. The Santa Maria Police Department says Interim Chief Ralph Martin has reinstituted the unit. The Community Service Unit is made up of officers who handle calls for service while on patrol and address specific issues within the city.
The city of Santa Maria is divided into three reporting beats. The public is encouraged to contact the Beat Coordinators to assist with neighborhood issues. This is not for emergency purposes. In case of an emergency the public is urged to call 911.

Beat Two Coordinator is Cpl. Eligio Lara. He can be contacted at 310-9663. His desk phone is 928-3781 ext. 1271. Beat Two area is between Fesler St. and Stowell Rd.
Beat Three Coordinator is Cpl. Jeff Lopez. He can be reached at 310-9668. His desk phone is 928-3781 ext. 1199. Beat Three is everything south of Stowell Rd.
