Man Killed In Farming Accident Identified

A farming accident left one man dead today. It happened in Santa Paula around 8 a.m. Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputies say the man was working at a flower nursery farm on the 900 block of Corporation Street.

Sgt. Eric Buschow says the man’s shirt got caught in an auger machine and he was pulled into the machine. The Medical Examiner identified the victim as 29-year-old Ernesto Rodriguez-Gomez of Santa Paula.

Firefighters and Cal/OSHA are on scene investigating.
