OXNARD, Calif. -- Planned Parenthood has opened a new health center in Oxnard on Thursday.
The organization held a ribbon-cutting event on Thursday for their new facility.
They say nearly 50 community members including local elected officials, non-profit community leaders and school administrators attended the event.
The facility is called the Oxnard Health Center and it's located on the 2600 block of South C Street in Oxnard.
This is the third site in Ventura County.
The health center will offer a wide range of lifesaving and confidential reproductive health care services to individuals including wellness exams, birth control, cancer screenings, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, gender-affirming care and abortion.
In 2020, Planned Parenthood has performed 5,841 cancer screenings, 25,730 STIs tests and provided 19,060 individuals with birth control.
The health care center is set to open to the public next week.
