Surfer drowns in Pismo Beach

PISMO BEACH, Calif. - Multiple agencies responded to reports of an unconscious surfer on Friday in Pismo Beach.

At around 10 a.m. on Friday, Pismo police rescued a surfer with a head injury from the waters of Pismo Beach west of 1020 Cypress Street.

Cal Fire responded and CPR was performed on the surfer but they died from their injuries.

The incident is under investigation.

A GoFundMe page has been established by the man's family and friends.
