18 outstanding students honored for academic excellence in Lompoc
LOMPOC, Calif. - Students in Lompoc Unified School District were honored today!
Eighteen outstanding first and second grade students from LUSD elementary schools were recognized for leadership, academic excellence and good citizenship.
“Kids are what we are all about,” said LUSD Board of Education member, Dick Barrett.
Each elementary school selected one exemplary student from their first and second grade classrooms.
These students and their principals were treated to a pizza and awards luncheon at the Education Center.
They arrived to applause and high-five greetings by Education Center staff as they ‘walked’ the red carpet.
Students were individually recognized by Superintendent McDonald and LUSD administrators who highlighted their achievements.
“You have each demonstrated unique leadership qualities at your school site. Congratulations for your well-deserved recognition,” said Superintendent Trevor McDonald.
