Santa Ynez Valley High School Pirates football players filled the front rows of the Solvang City Council meeting on Monday night.

The players attended the meeting to cheer on their Football Boosters President Rich Crandall.

Crandall excepted a proclamation recognizing the program and the spirit the team brings to the community on Friday night and every night.

The players have been practicing once a day.

They return to high school for classes on Wednesday.

The players hope to win their first Division 8 scrimmage on August 23.
