Firefighters respond to three acre brush fire in Casmalia

Firefighters say three acres burned in a brush fire in Casmalia Monday.

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department says it received the first reports of the fire just after noon Monday. Smoke was reportedly visible from Old Town Orcutt.

The fire broke out near Point Sal and Santos Roads.

Crews arrived at the scene and said about three acres of brush had caught fire near the old Casmalia dump site.

As of 1:20 p.m., the fire was no longer growing.

Crews were expected to stay at the scene for another two hours.

No injuries were reported, and no structures were threatened.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
