Gaviota man killed in crash on Hollister Ranch Road
A Gaviota man died after crashing his vehicle on Hollister Ranch Road west of La Pasada Road early Tuesday morning.
The crash happened in a remote area some time between 2 a.m. on Tuesday and 5 a.m. on Thursday in an unincorporated area of Santa Barbara County.
California Highway Patrol and Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to the crash.
The driver of a 2017 Aston Martin was driving southbound on Hollister Ranch Road at an unknown speed when his vehicle left the roadway and flipped, landing on its roof.
The driver was fatally injured at the scene. He was identified as Samuel Apple Mott, 31, of Gaviota.
Mott had been missing since Tuesday and family members had been searching the area for him. On Thursday morning, his vehicle was discovered by his mother, according to CHP.
Mott was the only occupant in the vehicle. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
