Nipomo High School girls’ basketball raises $2,482 to support local cancer patients

The Nipomo High School girls basketball team raised $2,482 to support cancer care services at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital, according to Dignity Health Central Coast.

The basketball team hosted the 7th annual Hoops for Hope event where they were able to raise the money. They also celebrated a 63-33 victory over Santa Maria High School at the event.

Hoops for Hope is an event that supports cancer-related causes each year and it included a silent auction, bake sale, tee shirt sales as well as ticket sales to raise funds.

The team wore teal colored socks to raise awareness specifically about ovarian cancer.
