Carpinteria City Hall clears out to a temporary site for repairs
Nearly every aspect of Carpinteria City Hall will be empty soon, while a major renovation project takes place.
This covers everything except for the council chambers. Meetings will continue to be held there for the city council and planning commission.
The timeline calls for the building on 5775 Carpinteria Avenue to be cleared by the week of January 22.
The city staff will be relocating to industrial office space at 4180 Via Real near Santa Monica Road.
The City Hall site is also the substation for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department which serves as the city’s police department. It will be moving in February due to additional time for specific law enforcement needs.
The city says work on the building will include the removal of asbestos. It should be done in August of this year.
All of the current phone numbers and email addresses will remain the same.
