PROCORE ranked among the highest in national employee satisfaction survey

Procore technologies in Carpinteria has been ranked as one of the top companies in America for employee satisfaction.

The survey of workers is done annually by Glassdoor, a company that welcomes employee comments to evaluate and rate satisfaction in the workplace.

In the just-released Best Places to Work report for 2019, Procore came in 4th and ranked second in technology companies behind Zoom Video. Zoom is based in San Jose but has an office in Santa Barbara. Overall the number one company in the report is Bain & Company, a consulting firm with offices in 57 cities worldwide.

Procore has grown rapidly with the demand for its cloud based construction software. About 800 workers are in the Carpinteria headquarters building and company wide there are just over 1300 employees. The company has multiple locations including offices in Australia, the UK, New York, Austin, Alameda and San Diego.

“A ll the people that I work with are motivated to help their peers succeed and themselves too,” said Lauren Masser a Procore Senior Product Marketing Manager.

“It’s about the community you are building here, so you are exited to come to work, excited to collaborate with your team, you are all trying to make each other successful and be right,” said Masser. Procore is now seeing Facebook, LinkedIn and Google in its rear view mirror. We tapped into the recipe used by the company’s founder and CEO Tooey Courtemanche. “We hire for hungry, humble and smart and those three qualities really go a long way,” he said. “A nd if you get those values right early you will find that you will hire people that reflect those values and you can’t go wrong.” The company also brings in outside business experts, “that help us to identify new tactics and new strategies on how to be successful as a team as an organization.” Employees say one of the company goals is to hire correctly and create collaborations of industry pros and experts in other areas that mesh together well. “It is the diversity of the mindset that really helps us be more successful,” said Masser. Besides working with clients on the phone about constructions projects worldwide, the employees have also been to the job sites in person to see the projects coming together with efficiencies in design, costs and scheduling. The company’s campus also has dog friendly work areas, reduced priced food, a view of the Pacific ocean, and shuttle busses. “I don’t care if you are the smartest person in that job, if you are a jerk you don’t get a job at Procore,” said Courtemanche. Currently the company is hiring about 60 employees a month and current workers are helping to craft the next round of employees. “T hose great people are empowered to hire more great people and it is just a virtual circle,” said Courtemanche. “We are not only doing that with our 800 people in the U.S. we are doing that abroad with our global presence.” He says if you get those values right early on, ” you will find that you will hire people that reflect those values and you can’t go wrong.” To celebrate the ranking specially made cupcakes with the number 4 were delivered for the employees. Tuesday, a load of snow was brought in for employees and their dogs to enjoy.
