Improved work ethic turns Ventura College receiver Brandon Jordan into a standout player

Brandon Jordan was a man among boys at Carpinteria High School but he struggled off the football field and wound up enrolling at Ventura College even though he had NCAA Division 1 talent.

That decision turned out to be a good one for Jordan who is now a star receiver on the Pirates football team that will play for a State Championship on Saturday, December 8 in Sacramento against Laney College.

The 6’5, 230 pound receiver leads Ventura College in receptions, receiving yards and touchdown catches.

There were still some growing pains at VC as he had to redshirt last year after being academically ineligible.

But Jordan credits Ventura College for instilling a strong work ethic in him both on and off of the field.

The sophomore has received scholarship offers from Fresno State and Louisville and says he will decide in the coming weeks on where he’ll play next season.
