Direct Relief prepares to send medical supplies to Indonesia
Direct Relief is prepared to send medical supplies to Indonesia as soon as the request is approved.
Direct Relief’s Andrew MacCalla said they have to work out the logistics since the airport closest to the earthquake and tsunami is out of fuel.
MacCalla said FedEx will fly the supplies to Brunei and then boat them to the devastated areas.
CEO Thomas Tighe said they are monitoring and assessing the situation.
They are in contact with midwife Robin Lim of Goleta who is already working in devastate county.
In addition to medical supplies there has been a request for body bags.
