Truck crashes into home in Pismo Beach
PISMO BEACH, Calif. - A truck crashed into a Pismo Beach home Tuesday afternoon, leaving the driver with moderate injuries.
A white GMC pickup truck crashed into a house directly on the corner of Foothill Road and Mattie Road at around 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday.
The driver, a 72-year-old man, was the only person in the vehicle during the crash. Because of the severity of the crash, the firefighters had to perform a minor extrication - meaning the man needed to be helped out of his car, but wasn't pinned down.
CAL FIRE said the man was transported to the hospital shortly after with moderate injuries.
Deputies said that both the car and the house sustained major damage from this crash.
The Pismo Beach Police Department is investigating the accident and a tow company was called in to remove the truck from the house.
It is still unclear whether drugs, alcohol, or a medical condition played a role in the crash.
