Car crash sparks vegetation fire in Grover Beach

GROVER BEACH, Calif. -- Grover Beach Police and Five Cities Fire responded to a vegetation fire Tuesday morning in Grover Beach.
At around 7:30 a.m., a minivan lost control and crashed into a tree near Highway 101 and the southbound on-ramp near 1200 block of El Camino Real in Grover Beach.
The minivan crash sparked a small vegetation fire.
Five Cities firefighters were able to quickly put out the vegetation fire.
Prior to agencies responding, a good samaritan helped the driver out of the vehicle.
The driver of the crashed minivan was not seriously injured.
An initial investigation says a medical emergency caused the driver to crash.
The area was closed to traffic but has since reopened.
