Sig Alert issued after fatal crash near Avila Beach
AVILA BEACH, Calif. - A Sig Alert was issued for San Luis Bay Drive at Apple Orchard Lane near Avila Beach on Friday.
The alert was issued around 3:30 p.m., according to California Highway Patrol.
CHP told our newsroom that two vehicles were involved in a deadly crash, causing law enforcement to stop traffic in the area.
It is unclear how many people were injured in the crash.
CHP said the Sig Alert will be lifted when the scene has been cleared.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area for now.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
