Channel Islands Boulevard closed between C and J Streets due to stolen truck crash

OXNARD, Calif. - A section of Channel Islands Boulevard between C and J Streets in Oxnard will be closed for the next few hours after a stolen truck crashed, causing a palm tree to fall near the roadway.

Oxnard police said the driver of a stolen white Isuzu truck with a camper lost control while driving down Channel Islands Blvd. The truck ended up crashing into a palm tree near C Street.

Police arrested the driver on drug charges associated with the stolen truck.

A passenger in the truck was transported to the hospital but did not sustain serious injuries.

As both the east and westbound sides of Channel Islands Blvd. are closed, drivers are advised to avoid the area entirely for the next few hours.
