Two Oxnard residents arrested in connection to two separate shootings

Two Oxnard residents were arrested in connection to two separate shooting incidents that took place in late January.

The two were arrested during search warrant raids by the Oxnard Police Department on Wednesday.

The Violent Crimes Unit with the assistance of SWAT teams executed the search warrants on the 3000 block of South L Street and the 2000 block of Blackberry Circle in Oxnard, as well as the 6300 block of McBean Road in the city of Somis at around 5 a.m..

A 17-year-old documented gang member was taken into custody during the searches. According to authorities, he was arrested and faces possible charges for attempted murder, gang enhancement, and firearms-related charges.

The 17-year-old was later taken to juvenile hall.

After the warrants were served, Oxnard resident Emilio Torres, 20 was contacted by police and arrested.

Torres was arrested on suspicion of brandishing a firearm as well as gang enhancement and later booked into Ventura County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
