El Paseo’s Taco Tuesday is no longer a best kept secret

Taco Tuesday at the world famous El Paseo Mexican Restaurant in Santa Barbara has grown in popularity thanks to word-of-mouth.

Eric Schwartz is a regular.

“At the beginning it was never crowded,” said Schwartz. ” Now there is a line. It’s the best deal in town.”

Some tortillas are made on site in the historic adobe complex dating back to 1826.

It’s an all-you-can-eat taco buffet with pork, chicken and beef for less than $9 between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Madison Tedesco said she usually fills her plate twice.

“It is really delicious. I come with a huge groud of friends,” said Tedesco.

Hungry customers said they make 3 or 4 trips to fill their plate.

Taco Tuesday attracts lovers, too.

Nick and Alyssa Green held there reception at the restaurant two years ago.

They returned with their newborn and relatives to celebrate their anniversary.

Taco Tuesday has inspired an every-now-and-then segment nicknamed Tracy’s Taco Tuesday on NewChannel 3.
