La Fiesta Pequea Starts Wave of Old Spanish Days Events in Santa Barbara

Old Spanish Days Fiesta officially began on Wednesday with the LaFiesta Pequea drawing thousands of people to Santa Barbara.

The annual event was hosted by Father Larry Gosselin and NewsChannel 3 Anchor Beth Farnsworth.

Musicians, dancers and performers from the region and parts of California showcased their talents live on stage.

The event attracted thousands of locals and visitors.

“I’m just looking forward to all of the beautiful dresses,” said Mary Gaiera, a Santa Barbara resident.

Many of the spectators say they keep coming back each year.

“The spirit of Fiesta, the celebration and the people loving each other. Just having a good old time in Santa Barbara. Viva la Fiesta,” said Fred Romera, a Santa Barbara local.
