Cal Poly Lifts Social Probation for Fraternities and Sororities

Cal Poly San Luis Obispo’s Greek System is no longer on social probation.

Multiple sexual assaults reportedly involving Cal Poly’s Greek events prompted the University to put a system-wide ban on all fraternity and sorority parties back in January.

The three month ban was officially lifted on Friday.

This comes over a month after Greek leaders presented a 19-page safety plan to help battle sexual assault, calling it S.T.A.T.U.S. which stands for Students Taking Action Towards University Safety.

Cal Poly President Jeffrey D. Armstrong approved the plan on March 23rd.

A copy of S.T.A.T.U.S. can be found here.
