Gas leak shut off

Ventura County firefighters said they have secured a ruptured gas line that led to evacuations.

The leak came from a transmission line in Newbury Park around 10 Wednesday morning.

People living close to the leak on Newbury Park Road were asked to evacuate; others sheltered in place.

No one was injured by the fumes.
