Westmont Student Dies in Motorcycle Crash

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department reports the driver of the motorcycle is identified as Nicholas Dale Davis. As school spokesperson said Davis was a Senior at Westmont College majoring in economics and business. The 21-year-old Northern California man was killed after crashing his red Honda motorcycle into a tree just before 9 p.m. Tuesday. California Highway Patrol says the man was riding on Cold Springs Road at speeds topping one hundred miles per hour. He lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a tree in Montecito. The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike and died at the scene. Authorities have not determined if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
