A large fire tore through a home in Montecito causing extensive damage. The fire broke out just before eight Saturday night on the 400 block of Hot Springs Road and was not contained until just before midnight. Several agencies, including Montecito Fire responded to the call. Flames engulfed the home and thick smoke could be seen for miles. Two residents were home when the fire broke out, but both were able to get out safely. We spoke to the owner of the house, who did not want to go on camera. He told KEY news he believes the fire may have started in the basement. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
