Parking meter fees to resume in Ventura

VENTURA, Calif. - Starting Tuesday, October 13, the City of Ventura will resume collecting parking fees for on-street, metered parking in Downtown Ventura. Enforcing of fee payments will also resume.

Parking rates of 50-cents per hour are being collected along Palm Street, Oak Street, California Street, Chestnut Street, Fir Street, and Main Street. Some spaces will be designated for to-go or pick-up orders because of the increase of takeout food. Two handicapped parking spaces will be made available.

There are nearly 2,000 free public parking spaces available in Downtown Ventura, including the parking structure on Santa Clara Street.

This is the first time parking fees are being given out since the City of Ventura waived all parking fees due to the coronavirus pandemic.

For contactless parking payments, download the free ParkMobile app. Drivers can set up alerts through email, text message, or app notifications to remind them when the parking meter is about to expire. To learn more or to download the app, go to parkmobile.io.
