Motorcyclist killed in Pismo Beach crash identified

The rider of the motorcycle involved in Saturday night’s fatal crash near Pismo Beach has been identified as 29-year-old Cody Clark out of Grover Beach by the Pismo Beach Police Department.

The crash remains under investigation with an autopsy scheduled for later in the week. There is no further information at this time.

ORIGINAL STORY

A motorcyclist was killed Saturday evening after colliding with an SUV in Pismo Beach.

At around 6:10 p.m., Pismo Beach Police Department responded to the crash at the intersection of Leeward Avenue and Shell Beach Road.

According to witnesses at the scene, the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Shell Beach Road at a high rate of speed. Witnesses say the motorcyclist ran a stop sign at the previous intersection and collided with a Toyota 4Runner that was turning left onto Shell Beach Road.

The motorcyclist collided with the front left wheel of the Toyota and suffered fatal injuries.

The identification of the motorcyclist is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

A portion of Shell Beach Road was closed for about three hours while traffic investigators investigated the crash.
