Sail Boat Washes Ashore at Solimar Beach

A Coast Guard salvage crew is working to remove a sail boat that washed ashore.

Authorities said the boat was anchored in the Santa Barbara area Tuesday night but strong winds broke anchor and the boat drifted to Solimar Beach in Ventura County.

Emergency crews were called out to Solimar Beach Drive just before 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

Ventura County Fire Department began a water rescue efforts for any victims.

Officials said once the owner of the boat was notified, the owner confirmed no one was aboard the boat at the time of the incident.
