Spilborghs To Continue Baseball Career In Japan

The journey continues for Ryan Spilborghs. His next baseball stop is the Seibu Lions in Japan. After spending last season in the minor leagues, the 33-year old from Santa Barbara signs a one year contract with the Lions that is far more lucrative than being in the minors. Spilborghs, who graduated Santa Barbara High School in 1998 and also played and graduated from UCSB, broke into Major League Baseball in 2005 with Colorado and played for the Rockies through the 2011 season. He has 48 career home runs and a career .272 batting average.
