San Luis Obispo-based tech startup teaches a computer to taste wine

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - A San Luis Obispo-based tech startup is taking artificial intelligence to a very fancy level.
It's teaching a computer to taste wine. The idea is to help winemakers improve their products and attract new customers.
The company is called "Tastry."
The founder is Cal Poly graduate Katerina Axelsson. She says the AI analyzes "tens of thousands of wines a year." She got the idea when she was a chemistry student working at a winery.
