Dog-friendly company list ranks Procore second nationwide
A dog-friendly work environment has become a positive work ranking honor some companies have been able to create for their image and the comfort of their employees.
It includes Carpinteria-based Procore Technologies, ranked number two in the country by Rover.com.
Procore is a construction software company with tremendous growth success in recent years and a solid hiring trend.
Amazon came in number one.
Rover said in its review of the “Best Dog Friendly Companies of 2019” bringing a dog to work can be a stress-reliever. “As a top dog-friendly company and the world’s largest network of pet sitters and dog walkers, Rover knows dogs can be a game-changer for corporate culture,” Rover said in a released statement.
In the review, Rover says it considered if dogs were allowed in the office, if there was support for pet insurance and/or adoption, if there was paid time off for pet bereavement or adoption, and if there was in office perks such as treats, gates and dog beds.
Rover said, “Procore Technologies has a “furry-friends” Slack channel where employees share pictures and videos of their pups. The company has dog-friendly happy hours, ‘pawties,’ on their main lawn.”
Last winter, in an unusual surprise for a California coastal company, Procore had snow delivered to its ocean-front property. Dogs were seen playing on the snow, something they may not get to do often — or at all in their lifetime.
The Procore campus location is also in an area with hiking trails and easy access to the Carpinteria beaches where employees go for lunch, fitness walks, surfing and biking.
The research showed California overall was the top state for dog-friendly companies.
