ACE Charter High School holds drive-thru graduation ceremony

ACE Graduation

OXNARD, Calif. - Ventura County's first high school graduation of the school year was held on Wednesday.

ACE Charter High School seniors and their families circled around the parking lot at Oxnard College to celebrate.

Nearly 50 seniors received their diplomas.

One student came up with the idea of a drive-thru graduation and the school went with it.

“Every kid is given a parking space by color and number so everyone is socially distanced appropriately. It is a 29 minute ceremony because we do not want anyone getting out to use restrooms and everyone is going to follow the procession after we do a quick welcoming. We will then give out the diplomas to the kids and they are all going to take a victory lap between all the staff and board members," ACE Charter High School Principal Joe Clausi said.

One of the students from ACE Charter made a robot that handed out the diplomas to the seniors.
