SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - A former UCSB basketball star is signing with one the NBA's premier franchises.

The Miami Heat announced on Wednesday that they have signed former Gaucho Gabe Vincent to a two-way contract.

The contract allows Vincent to spend time with the Heat's main roster, while splitting time with the franchise's G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

Vincent has been playing with the Stockton Kings - the G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings - for the last two years.

According to the announcement on the Miami Heat's website, Vincent has appeared in 20 games this season in the G League, averaging 23.4 points in 31.8 minutes per game. He's excelled as a shooter this season, hitting 41.2 percent from three-point range and 89.7 percent from the foul line. He leads the G League in 3-pointers made this season.

Vincent played 113 games with the Gauchos and is the school’s all-time leader in three-point field goals made (243) and among the Top 10 in points and assists.
