Fire crews on scene for geological event at Hope Ranch

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – Fire crews are on the scene of a vegetation fire off of Creciente Drive in the Hope Ranch neighborhood Tuesday.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, this is a geological event that started through fire originating from the coastal bluffs.

The fire has now spread to surrounding vegetation at approximately half an acre, posing a modest threat to structures at this time, according to the SBCFD.

The SBCFD says the area has a history of recurring geological events that will periodically cause flare-ups such as these.

This is an evolving emergency response and more information will be added to this article as it is received.
