Port San Luis reopening boat launch Friday with strict rules

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Recreation activities will be returning to the Port of San Luis on Friday. The Harbor District announcing a limited opening of the sport launch ramp on a trial basis.

Strict physical distancing rules and other guidelines must be followed, according to the port. New procedures for parking, fish cleaning, mask wearing, among others are being implemented. If boaters do not follow the new procedures, access will be denied.

New rules for reopening:

  • 30 trucks with trailers per day. NO Exceptions.
  • Parking lot will NOT be open for trucks and trailers until 30 min before the Sport Launch opens – every day.
  • No entering Port San Luis Parking lot until 5:00 a.m.
  • No overnight parking allowed - Strictly day use from 5:00 a.m. -4 p.m. daily.
  • The Fish Cleaning Station is CLOSED, you must clean your fish at home.
  • Hoist No. 1 and Olde Port Beach Launch Ramp are closed.
  • The boat wash is limited to two stations.
  • Must wear a mask at all times when outside your vehicle.
