Woman airlifted to Cottage Hospital after injury on Franklin Trail

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – Deputies and firefighters airlifted an injured female hiker who was hiking near Franklin Trail Monday.

According to the Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District (CSFPD), three ground crews, multiple drones, a Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Search and Rescue team, and a helicopter were used to find the injured woman.

The CSFPD reported no other injuries for responders during the incident that began just after 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Crews airlifted the woman via helicopter and the extent of her injuries remains unknown before taking her to Cottage Hospital using a ground ambulance shared the CSFPD.
