KEYT News

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. (KEYT) – A 15-year-old Paso Robles boy died and the 18-year-old driver and another 15-year-old were transported from the scene of a single-vehicle crash on El Pomar Drive east of Templeton Sunday evening.

On Sep. 13, around 9:59 p.m., officers were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash on El Pomar Drive, just west of Vaquero Road, stated a press release from the California Highway Patrol-Templeton Area (CHP).

Arriving officers determined that an 18-year-old Paso Robles resident was driving a white 2007 Toyota Camry westbound on El Pomar Drive at an unknown speed when, for reasons still under investigation, he allowed the vehicle to travel off of the north edge of the roadway and into a tree detailed the CHP.

According to the CHP, the collision ejected a 15-year-old Paso Robles boy out of the back seat of the Camry and he died from his injuries at the scene.

The 18-year-old driver and another 15-year-old from Paso Robles were transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for further medical treatment noted the CHP.

Alcohol nor drugs are currently suspected to have been a part of the fatal collision, shared the CHP, but the crash remains under investigation by the local branch of the statewide law enforcement agency.
