PORT HUENEME, Calif. - Port Hueneme police and detectives arrested a man who is wanted in connection to a Texas homicide this weekend.

Around 5:30 p.m. Saturday evening, Port Hueneme Police detectives located 29-year-old Jorge Izquierdo of San Antonio, Texas near the 2500 block of Spinnaker Drive. Detectives recognized that Izquierdo was wanted for a homicide and arrested him at the scene without incident.

According to reports from Texas, Izquierdo allegedly had an argument with his 26-year-old wife on Thursday and ended up killing her while their two young children were present. Izquierdo then reportedly fled the state of Texas, leaving his children behind at the scene.

Izquierdo was considered armed and dangerous and hadn’t been seen since the incident.

After Port Hueneme Police took Izquierdo into custody, he was transported to the Ventura County Jail where he awaits extradition back to Texas.

Port Hueneme police wanted to remind residents that they risk their own lives every day because they want to keep the community safe and protect the lives of others.
